Box-Behnken approach for optimization of Cr(III) removal from a real tanning effluent using powdered marble

نویسندگان

چکیده

During the tanning step, 30–40% of trivalent chromium remains in solid and liquid wastes, generating highly polluted sewage. In this study, powdered marble was used as a low-cost adsorbent to remove from synthetic solution real effluent. Batch adsorption experiments on were performed. After incubation, samples filtered uptake determined. A 3-level Box-Behnken Design study combined effect initial concentration, pH values dose removal chromium. The results showed that maximum (> 99%) obtained at concentration 0.758 g/L, = 5.0 using 6% (w:v) marble. Adsorption isotherm satisfactorily described by Langmuir model. toxicity effluent examined before after adsorption. Phytotoxicity (Lepidium sativum) assays revealed an improvement germination index rising 0 35% adsorption, respectively. Microtoxicity (Escherichia coli) decrease growth inhibition percentage going 100 31% following experiment raw Desorption indicated nearly 45% adsorbed recovered 4% (v:v) HCl. Overall, is effective economical alternative with great potential for recovery.

A Box-Behnken experimental design for microwave assisted extraction optimization of pectin from citron peel

Microwave assisted extraction technique was employed to extract pectin from citron peel. Box-Behnken design was applied to investigate the influence of irradiation time, microwave power and pH on the yield and DE of pectin. The finding indicated that the optimal conditions for the maximum yield of pectin (30.71%) were achieved at irradiation time of 3 min, microwave power of 700 W and pH of 1.5...

Optimization of Ni (II) removal on Rhizomucor tauricus by using Box-Behnken design

Rhizomucor tauricus is used in the production of lipase, after several cycles it is disposed off as biological waste. A new biosorbent material fungus, Rhizomucor tauricus was immobilized, used as an adsorbent for removal of Nickel (II) and for optimization Box-Behnken design used by statistica 6.0. The time required to reach equilibrium was found to be 4 hours. The optimized concentration is 6...
